Special Education Teacher
Position Duration: August 18 – May 29
Location: Single school site (K–3rd Grade Caseload)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Exceptional Children’s (EC) Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to a small caseload of approximately seven students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. This position is supported by additional adult staff in the classroom and is based at one convenient location.
Qualifications
Must hold or be eligible for a North Carolina Professional Educator License in Special Education: Adaptive Curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and deliver engaging instruction tailored to individual student needs.
Create a structured and supportive learning environment that promotes academic and social growth.
Maintain high expectations for student behavior and classroom management.
Monitor and assess student progress; prepare and share progress reports.
Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to ensure student success.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervising administrator.
Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of child development and diverse learning needs.
Ability to differentiate instruction and support all learners effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and team members.
Calm and adaptable under pressure, especially in emergency situations.
Motivated, organized, and committed to student growth and inclusion.
