: JOB TITLE:   Special Education Teacher - Coteach grades K-3 DEPARTMENT:   Education SUPERVISED BY:   Director of Education/Principal JOB SUMMARY The Special Education Teacher will coteach with a veteran teacher serving acaseload of up to 14 students with the assistance of teaching assistants,clinical social workers, speech pathologist, occupational therapist, certifiedspecial education teachers and educational director.  We are a smalltherapeutic school (up to 48 students) located in Manchester CT.  Theschool is part of the CCGC that has been connecting with families since1959. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Establishes meaningful connections with students as they work towards returning to their public-school settings Designs educational programs for students based on assessments and presents their findings at Team meetings and PPTs Maintains communication with certified special education teachers, school social workers, speech and language pathologist, teaching assistants, occupational therapist serving the students Participates in ongoing professional development including the ARC framework and CPI Orders classroom supplies and teaching materials This position is an excellent fit for any educator lookingto be part of a team in a small therapeutic school setting. Your passionwill be welcomed at the CCGC and I encourage you to contact us anytime for moreinformation. QUALIFICATIONS B.A. required, M.A. preferred LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION The Special Education Teacher shall be certified by the Connecticut StateDepartment of Education holding a Special Education Certificate 165 orequivalent.
