Qualifications: Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education Valid state teaching certificate with necessary endorsements for the subject and level Relevant Special Education endorsements Strong communication and teamwork skills Location: Star City, AR Responsibilities: Develop and implement instructional plans aligned with curricular goals and individual student IEPs. Create and update Individual Education Programs (IEPs) based on diagnostic assessments and ongoing evaluations. Monitor student behavior and maintain a positive classroom environment, employing de-escalation techniques as needed. Collaborate with school staff, teams, and parents to provide insights on behavior and learning strategies. Assist students with personal needs, fostering independence in essential tasks. Design a learning atmosphere that reflects the maturity and interests of students. Set appropriate goals and objectives by reviewing referral and assessment data. Prepare students for transitions into mainstream classes and other learning environments. Assess student progress regularly and provide required reports to stakeholders. Supervise and plan assignments for teacher assistants, evaluating their performance as needed. Participate in staff meetings and carry out additional duties as assigned by the principal.
