A Special Education Teacher is needed for a contract position serving 7th and 8th grades in a K-12 school located in Southeastern Minnesota, near Harmony and Spring Valley. This role supports a classroom of 14 students with a variety of disabilities, providing targeted instruction and services in a federal special education setting. Key Responsibilities: Deliver instruction and support in reading, writing, and math as replacement lessons for students with special needs. Address and implement individualized goals related to academic progress (reading, writing, math) as well as social and organizational skills. Provide specialized support to 10 students in federal setting 1, 3 students in federal setting 2, and 1 student in federal setting 3. Collaborate with educational staff to ensure compliance with individualized education plans (IEPs). Monitor and report student progress regularly, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary. Qualifications: Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License is required. Experience working with middle school students (7th and 8th grade) in special education settings. Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse needs and varying disabilities. Strong classroom management and communication skills.
