A contract position is available for a dedicated professional in special education within a K-12 school environment. This role focuses on providing tailored educational experiences to students with diverse learning needs during the extended school year (ESY) program. Location: Somerville, MA Duration: July 7 - August 1 Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM - 11:30 AM Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction in English Language Arts, Writing, and Math to students with varying abilities. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that reflect each student's unique needs and goals. Create a structured and supportive learning environment that fosters engagement and promotes independence. Collaborate with other educators and support staff to enhance the overall educational experience. Maintain detailed records of student progress and adapt instructional strategies as necessary. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and needs. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Masters degree preferred. Valid state certification or licensure in Special Education. Previous experience teaching students with special needs, particularly in a K-12 setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse populations. Ability to create and modify lesson plans based on individual student needs.
