An educational opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support K-8 students requiring IEP and 504 services in a resource setting. Located in Rockford, IL, this full-time or potential part-time contract position begins in late July or early August 2025 and runs through June 2026. Responsibilities include delivering direct special education services predominantly through pull-out instruction, with some push-in support as needed. The role involves progress monitoring, conducting evaluations, maintaining consistent communication with parents and general education teachers, and performing case management tasks. Thursdays are reserved for attending IEP meetings to ensure thorough collaboration. Key qualifications: Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement Experience with special education instruction preferred but not required; training available Ability to manage caseloads within the same grade band, typically K-8 Comfortable working with students who may have 1:1 aide support Work schedule: School day from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday Thursdays dedicated fully to IEP meetings and related responsibilities Additional information: Serving approximately 90 students across two academy programs Technology and support provided, including laptops Collaboration with paraeducators and general education staff encouraged to optimize student outcomes This role offers the chance to make a significant impact within a dynamic educational environment, fostering growth and inclusion for students with diverse learning needs.
