Job Details: Position: Special Education Teacher (Middle School, CI Focus)

Schedule: 37.5 hours/week (Monday-Friday, school hours)

Duration: August 2025 - May 2026

Pay Rate: Up to $48/hr (based on experience)

Location: Kalamazoo, MI 49048 (on-site) : Provide specialized instruction to middle school students with cognitive impairments

Develop and implement individualized IEPs with functional academic and life skills goals

Adapt curriculum using multi-sensory and evidence-based strategies

Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers

Foster social-emotional growth and independence

Utilize assistive technology to enhance learning

Maintain compliance with Michigan special education laws

Support inclusion opportunities where appropriate Education & Certification Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education

Michigan Teaching Certificate with Cognitive Impairment (CI) Endorsement

Experience working with middle school students with disabilities

Knowledge of Michigan Merit Curriculum and Extended Standards
