An education opportunity is available for a full-time Special Education Teacher serving K-12 students, primarily in elementary grades, with some middle and high school involvement. This position is based onsite in Lakewood, WA, within a district that values educators skilled in supporting diverse learning needs, including rural populations. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs. Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to enhance student learning. Monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies to ensure success. Maintain accurate records and comply with state and federal regulations. Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment for K-12 students. Qualifications: Valid Washington State teaching certification in Special Education. Experience working with K-12 students, with a preference for those who have served rural communities. Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavior management. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Position Details: Contract duration aligned with the current school year. Full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week across four days, with Fridays off. Start date: August 19, 2025. Onsite work is required at this time.
