A unique opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support an inclusive elementary school environment in Henderson, NC. This contractual position is set for the 2025-2026 school year and offers engagement with students across grades K-6, including 6th grade, focusing on an inclusion classroom setting. The role is part-time, with approximately 10-15 hours per week spread over five days, requiring full-time onsite presence from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Responsibilities include: Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for a caseload of around 15 students. Collaborating closely with general education teachers to support the diverse needs of students within an inclusion classroom model. Monitoring student progress and adapting instructional strategies to meet unique learning requirements. Participating in meetings and communicating with parents and staff to ensure student success. Maintaining accurate records and compliance with special education laws and guidelines. Desired experience and qualifications: Valid teaching certification in Special Education. Experience teaching K-6 grades, preferably in an inclusion classroom environment. Strong knowledge of special education laws, best practices, and instructional methods. Ability to manage a caseload of students with varying learning needs. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to on-site, part-time teaching hours Monday through Friday.
