This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support Grades 6-12 students in a K-12 school setting near San Antonio, TX. The role involves delivering both push-in and pull-out services to approximately 20 students, with a daily schedule from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. This is a contract position lasting the full school year.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support within inclusive and individualized classroom environments.
Conduct push-in and pull-out teaching sessions tailored to student needs.
Attend and actively contribute to Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, collaborating with educators, parents, and specialists to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff to foster positive educational experiences.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Texas Department of Education EC-12 Special Education teaching license is required.
Demonstrated experience with ARD meetings, including participation and contribution.
Skilled in adapting curriculum to meet diverse learning needs of students with disabilities.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Commitment to inclusive education and student advocacy.
