This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher serving Kindergarten through 5th grade students in an elementary school setting. The position focuses on Life Skills as well as supporting students with Severe or Multiple Disabilities, particularly those with cognitive challenges. The assignment spans the 2025-2026 school year on a contract basis. Key Details: Location: Bangor, ME Duration: August 25, 2025 June 10, 2026 Hours: 8:15 AM 3:30 PM Caseload: 12 students Support: 7 Educational Technicians (paras) assigned to the classroom Qualifications: Valid Maine Special Education Certification (Certification #282) or an out-of-state reciprocal equivalent Experience working with K-5 students with life skills and cognitive disabilities Ability to collaborate with support staff and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Responsibilities include developing and delivering curriculum tailored to students with severe or multiple disabilities, managing classroom activities with the assistance of educational technicians, conducting assessments, and maintaining comprehensive documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
