A K-12 public school in Austin, TX, is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide resource support in Math and Language Arts to approximately 30 students in grades K-8. This contract position runs for the 2023-2024 school year, with hours from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction in Math and Language Arts tailored to individual student needs. Collaborate with staff and families through Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Maintain a supportive classroom environment that fosters student growth and inclusion. Adhere to school policies, including dress code requirements promoting professionalism and community values. Qualifications: Valid Texas Department of Education EC-12 Special Education License is required. Proven experience with ARD meetings, including active participation and team collaboration. Strong communication and organizational skills. Commitment to professional conduct aligned with school dress code policies (e.g., no visible tattoos, natural hair colors, professional attire, and limited earrings).
