A Special Education Teacher position is available to support a self-contained K12 classroom in Aurora, IL. This contract role is designed for an educator committed to fostering inclusive learning environments for students with diverse needs. The position focuses on serving 610 students in an elementary setting, working closely within a collaborative team. Responsibilities: Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs. Collaborate regularly with a certified LBS1 co-teacher, full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), and other support staff. Deliver instruction aligned with district curriculum and individualized goals. Manage classroom activities using strong organizational and behavior management techniques. Participate in ongoing team meetings and professional development opportunities. Qualifications: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement required. Experience working in an elementary education setting is preferred. Demonstrated skills in collaboration, communication, and classroom management. Commitment to inclusive education and differentiated instructional methods.
