An opportunity is available for an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to provide specialized physical education support to K-12 students. This role focuses on adapting physical activities to meet the diverse needs of students with individualized education programs (IEPs), ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Location: Arlington, TXPosition Type: Contract, Non-School YearHours: Approximately 5 hours per week Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement adaptive physical education lesson plans tailored to students' unique abilities and needs across K-12 grade levels Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff to integrate physical activity into student education plans Assess student progress and modify instructional strategies as necessary to promote physical development and engagement Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students during physical education sessions Stay informed of current best practices in adaptive physical education and related fields Desired Qualifications: Experience working as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher or Coach within K-12 settings Knowledge of adaptive physical education techniques and student development Ability to design and modify activities that accommodate a wide range of physical abilities Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive educational experience for all students This contract position offers a focused opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student well-being and physical development during the non-school year calendar.
