A full-time Special Education teaching position is available in an elementary school setting in Akron, OH. This contract role will cover a leave from February 24 to May 29 (End of School Year), with strong potential for renewal based on performance for the 2025-2026 school year.
Responsibilities include co-teaching a 5th grade classroom alongside two other educators. You will collaborate on classroom instruction, provide targeted support by pulling students for individualized services, and ensure compliance with Individualized Education Program (IEP) service minutes. Additionally, expertise in implementing Wilson Reading interventions is required to support students effectively. The caseload consists of 18 students, requiring skilled management and tailored educational strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification
Experience working with elementary-aged students, ideally within a co-teaching environment
Proficiency in Wilson Reading or similar structured literacy programs
Ability to manage and deliver IEP services with fidelity
Strong collaborative skills to work seamlessly with general education teachers
Commitment to student-centered approaches and adaptive instructional methods
