We are seeking an experienced Special Assets Officer to join our Credit team. This is a critical role responsible for managing a portfolio of adversely graded commercial real estate (CRE) and other problem loans. The successful candidate will bring strong workout and restructuring expertise, particularly across multi-state jurisdictions. Manage portfolio of criticized and classified loans Work with multiple parties to come to best resolution for the bank in the shortest time frame Manage quarterly watch list process Provide updates to senior management and other bank committees Shadow criticized/classified accounts that are still managed by first line bankers Other Duties Keep current on regulatory environment and meet regulatory requirements Collaborate with other parts of the bank on macro-economic conditions. Maintain approved work-out counsel list Skills/Abilities Requires strong communication and quantitative skills. Requires strong Excel skills. Experience with LoanVantage a plus. Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Job may grow into management position as bank grows. Work Environment This job operates in an office setting, the opportunity to telework is not available. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Office environment with job duties conducted via telephone, face to face meetings, and on the computer. Physical Demands This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary. Travel Some ( Education and Experience Requires 8 years of experience in commercial real estate credit (which must include at least some experience in special assets/loan workout) or 5 years of specialized experience in special assets/loan workout. Undergraduate degree in a related discipline or additional related experience. Experience working across multi-state jurisdictions. Current/recent special asset/loan workout experience is strongly preferred. This position is classified as exempt, and as such it is paid on a salaried basis. The pay range for this position is $140,000 to $180,000 annually if filled in our Bethesda location and $120,000 to $150,000 annually if filled in our Preston location. This position is classified as full-time and the benefits package includes health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance.
