Pine Street School is hiring a Spanish Elementary Teacher

You are dedicated to innovative, bilingual and global education You have exceptional communication skills and a nurturing, supportive approach You are passionate about constructivist teaching practices and inquiry-driven curriculum You love to collaborate with fellow teachers to create rich units of inquiry You are excited to learn and grow as a teacher and seek to implement outstanding teaching practices and classroom management skills You are skilled at assessing and documenting student learning and sharing learning outcomes with parents and guardians You value technology as a key learning and teaching tool You are trustworthy, dependable and a positive presence on campus HOW YOU WILL SUPPORT PINE STREET SCHOOL STUDENTS Plan and employ appropriate, interdisciplinary learning experiences for individual, small and whole group instruction using various teaching methods appropriate for language immersion settings Collaborate with PYP colleagues to develop the school's ethos and support relationships amongst students of all ages Guide and support parents through the rich and complex experience of the PYP, helping them learn what their children are capable of and how they can best support them in our program Actively utilize New York City as a resource for learning and involve your students in sustainable community service projects and experiences Maximize student language learning by utilizing the target language consistently in the classroom and collaborate with other dual language team members to develop and improve our language curriculum Implement technology as tool that empowers learners to broaden the expression of an idea (often artistically), innovate, solve a problem, learn something new, verify information, and communicate and collaborate with others We work with students individually and in groups, by selecting and employing various teaching methods appropriate for language immersion settings. Experience: Minimum of three (3) years elementary teaching experience A valid teaching certification (or equivalent) for Elementary Education Fluent in English (able to successfully attend workshops, read professional information and work collaboratively in the language.) Fluent in Spanish Strong experience with Apple technology implementation
