Qualifications:
Bachelor-level degree in education required .
Valid PA Certification in Special Education N- required .
Special education experience at the middle and/or high school level is preferred.
Current child abuse, criminal history and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
Clearance as an MA provider by the federal government and commonwealth of PA (conducted by the CCIU upon hire).
Duties & Responsibilities:
Instruct individuals and groups in special education skill areas and in core content as aligned to PDE State Standards.
Plan curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and teaching methods.
Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, test scores, and observation of behavior.
Support objectives and interventions of the educational program.
Maintain safe physical environment of the classroom.
Maintain communication with other professionals and parents to support the educational program.
Oversee and complete all special education processes and documentation for assigned students.
Prepare and disseminate report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required.
Function as an integral member of the service team to address needs of students and for organizational support.
Stay up to date and utilize current best practices and research-based methods.
