Qualifications:
Education Required:
•Bachelor's degree (Required)
•Applicants enrolled in an Alternative Certification program must provide proof of passing the content exam and meet the guidelines mentioned above. You must be eligible for one-year probationary certificate within twelve months from the date of employment.
Education/Certification:
•Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned as required by the State Board of Education Certification
•Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned

•Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
•Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
•Ability to collect and analyze data for instruction and program evaluation purposes

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Strategies
1. Develop and implement lesson plans and activities through distance or virtual learning to fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation, as required. Prepare lessons in instructional formats that accommodate differences in individual student needs.
2. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
3. Assist in developing an individual educational program (IEP, including academic and behavioral goals) for each assigned student in accordance with district policies, procedures, and state guidelines as directed.
4. Participate in ARD (admission, review, and dismissal) committee deliberations, and maintains accurate and timely records (including updating of academic and behavior goals) as required by administrative regulations and district policy as directed.
5. Create lessons based upon the student's evaluation data, curriculum-based assessment, and classroom data, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques including, but not limited to individualized instruction, small group instruction, station teaching, computer assisted instruction as appropriate for student learning.
6. Demonstrates proficiency in integration of technology for instruction.
7. Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
8. Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, and resources for distance or virtual learning that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of assigned students according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative policies.
9. Manage the behavior of learners in instructional setting to ensure environment is conducive to the learning process, assist and participate in management of student behavior in other parts of the school grounds or work site.
10. Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
11. Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
12. Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s).
13. Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
14. Participate in in-service and staff development activities and staff meetings as required or assigned.
15. Utilize a variety of instructional materials and available multi-media and computer technology to enhance learning.
Student Growth and Development
16. Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
17. Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
18. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
19. Be a positive role model for students and support the goals of the campus and school district.
Classroom Management and Organization
20. Create and maintain a physical and virtual classroom (hybrid) environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
21. Create a classroom environment that integrates and celebrates each student' cultural values, ethnic background, and home language.
22. Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
23. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
24. Assist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
Communication
25. Work with appropriate staff to adapt curriculum materials and instructional techniques to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
26. Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
27. Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
28. Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
29. Make provisions to be available to students and parents for educationally-related purposes when necessary and under reasonable terms.
30. Be available by phone, email, or video conferencing between regular school hours to confer with district/campus personnel, students, and/or parents. The rest of the workday is committed to planning, preparing, implementing, and evaluating lessons and activities.
31. When delivering instruction remotely, be available by phone, email, or video conferencing between regular school hours, to confer with district personnel, students, and/or parents.
32. When delivering instruction remotely, communicate with students or parents for a minimum of one time(s) per week via email, website, phone, or video conference.
33. Communicate with students or parents weekly when providing virtual instruction.
