Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is looking to hire a Secondary Life Skills Teacher to join our staff and work in an amazing school! Secondary Life Skills Teacher Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate Special Education endorsements (EC-12 Special Education)
- Knowledge of ARD committee Process
Core responsibilities
Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's academic and functional needs
Teach life skills such as personal hygiene, money management, communication, and social interaction
Modify curriculum and instruction to meet individual learning styles and developmental levels
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
Conduct ongoing assessments and adjust instruction accordingly
Provide or supervise personal care, medical support, and feeding as outlined in IEPs
Manage classroom behavior and intervene in crisis situations when necessary
Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations for special education
