Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is looking to hire a Secondary Life Skills Teacher to join our staff and work in an amazing school! Secondary Life Skills Teacher Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

• Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate Special Education endorsements (EC-12 Special Education)

• Knowledge of ARD committee Process

Core responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's academic and functional needs

• Teach life skills such as personal hygiene, money management, communication, and social interaction

• Modify curriculum and instruction to meet individual learning styles and developmental levels

• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families

• Conduct ongoing assessments and adjust instruction accordingly

• Provide or supervise personal care, medical support, and feeding as outlined in IEPs

• Manage classroom behavior and intervene in crisis situations when necessary

• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations for special education
