Job Posting: Full-Time Onsite Science Teacher Juvenile Facility Company: Soliant Education School Year: 20252026 Start Date: August 28, 2025 Location: Gorham, Maine Area Position Type: Full-Time, Onsite Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Science Teacher for a full-time contract position at a juvenile correctional facility in the Gorham, ME area. The ideal candidate must be licensed to teach science in the state of Maine and comfortable working in a correctional environment with youth. This is an in-person role for the 20252026 school year , offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a highly structured and supportive educational setting. Responsibilities: Deliver engaging science instruction to students in a juvenile correctional facility Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs Maintain classroom structure, safety, and consistency Collaborate with facility staff and educational professionals to support student success Assess student progress and provide individualized feedback Create a positive, respectful learning environment Requirements: Valid Maine Teaching License with endorsement in Science Experience working with at-risk youth or in a correctional setting preferred Strong classroom management skills Ability to build rapport with students in a non-traditional setting Must pass background checks and facility clearance requirements Available for full-time, in-person instruction starting August 28, 2025 Compensation and Benefits: Pay Range: $30$45 per hour (based on experience and education) Weekly pay Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan This is a unique and impactful opportunity for a passionate science educator looking to make a difference in the lives of underserved students.
