Job Type : Contract Location : Arlington, New Jersey Pay : Great Pay! Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging high school Earth or Physics or General Science lessons aligned with the NJ Student Learning Standards (including NGSS).
Lead laboratory and field-based investigations illustrating concepts in geology, meteorology, oceanography, and environmental science.
Assess learner progress via assignments, labs, projects, and exams; maintain accurate student records.
Integrate technology and digital learning tools to enrich the classroom experience.
Organize or support field trips and extracurricular scientific opportunities.
Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary curriculum and vertical alignment.
Provide instructional support and tutoring for students needing additional help.
Participate in school and district professional development and meetings.
Uphold district and state policies, including equitable and inclusive instructional practices.
Qualifications: NJ Instructional Certificate for Science (Earth or Physics Science endorsement at the secondary level).
Bachelor's degree in Physics, Earth Science, Geology, Meteorology, Environmental Science, or related field.
Strong content knowledge in Earth Science and modern science pedagogy.
Fulfillment of all NJ statutory pre-employment requirements (background checks, physical exam, credentials verification).
Master's degree in Earth or Environmental Science, Education, or related field (preferred).
Prior experience teaching Earth Science in NJ high schools (preferred).
