The job will entail teaching individuals with visual impairments to travel safely, confidently and independently in their environment. You possess excellent communication skills, a supportive mindset, and the inclination to work with the designated age group(s). Job Responsibilities: Accurately assess and identify student needs and functioning level related to orientation and mobility. Plan, design and implement individualized instructional programs using materials and equipment appropriate for student needs. Incorporate both school and residential program instruction as deemed appropriate to ensure student progress. Develop appropriate Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives, and recommend accommodations. Monitor students’ progress using appropriate methods and criteria in the areas of curriculum, assessments, and IEP goals.
