SUMMARY

The SAT/College Prep Teacher will lead the SAT Bootcamp, tutoring sessions, and after-school SAT preparation program. This role will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality SAT preparation lessons, organizing intensive bootcamp programs, and supporting students in their college application journey.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  1. SAT Bootcamp: Design, organize, and lead intensive SAT Bootcamp sessions aimed at helping students quickly improve their test-taking skills and scores.
  2. Tutoring & After-School Development: Provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions after school, tailoring lessons to meet students' individual needs. Develop engaging and effective SAT lesson plans and practice activities for these sessions.
  3. Lesson Planning: Create and maintain a curriculum for the SAT Bootcamp and tutoring program, ensuring lessons are aligned with current SAT standards and best practices in test preparation.
  4. Progress Monitoring: Track students' progress through assessments and adapt instructional methods to address areas of improvement, maintaining records of each student's achievements and goals.
  5. College Application Support: Assist students with the college admissions process, including applications, essays, and financial aid resources.
  6. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to keep them informed of student progress and upcoming college prep events.
  7. Resource Development: Gather and develop resources for test preparation, such as practice tests, SAT prep materials, and instructional guides.
Requirements:

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong knowledge of SAT format, scoring, and question types.
  • Experience in tutoring, teaching, or curriculum development, especially related to standardized tests.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and instructional skills.
  • Ability to work well with students, parents, and staff members.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field preferred.
