The Associate Teacher will accept the philosophy of The Children’s Workshop and will work as part of the teaching team to encourage a positive learning environment for all children within the center. S/he performs duties that are instructional in nature, and assists lead teachers with carrying out curriculum, guiding children’s behavior, and ensuring safety of the children. Requirements  The Teacher Assistant (TA) supports the Lead Teacher in implementing a high-quality, developmentally appropriate Pre-Kindergarten program aligned with the Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards (RIELDS). The TA helps create a nurturing, engaging, and safe learning environment that promotes school readiness for all children. Qualifications:

Education & Credentials: Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education OR Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in Preschool (Center-Based) Must meet all DHS licensing requirements for Teacher Assistants Must be enrolled in RIELDS training (or have completed it)

Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with young children in a group setting is preferred Experience in a RIDE-funded Pre-K or NAEYC-accredited program is a plus

Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certification Completion of required background clearances (B.C.I., C.A.N., Fingerprints) Up-to-date RI State Health Requirements, including TB test and immunizations
