Resource Teacher Assistant Bilingual EnglishSpanish

We are looking for a Resource Assistant who is bilingual in English and Spanish to support students with disabilities meet educational goals and objectives. The Resource Assistant works under the supervision of a Resource Teacher and works in the general education classrooms as well as small-group settings to support academic outcomes for students. Ideally, we would like to engage a Resource Assistant who is seeking an advanced degree in education and can grow into a general education or special education teaching position.
Hourly Pay Rate: $20.00-$25.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide assistance to Resource Teachers and General Education Teachers to implement supports for students with IEP’s and 504’s and to ensure inclusive practices.
Provide academic support in the classroom or pullout supports to students with IEP’s, 504’s, intervention or SST Plans in collaboration with general education teachers.
Support students in accessing learning environments and meeting academic and social goals.
Assist students in their use of educational resources and equipment.
Enforce school behavior standards (caring, safety, responsibility, respect and tolerance) while supervising student activity.
Support implementation of a student’s behavior support plan and/or crisis plan including collection of data
Support implementation of a student’s academic support plan including collection of data
Assist Resource Team in documenting a student’s present level of performance (PLP) from teacher and developing goals for future IEPs
Support teachers with use of electronic equipment and presentation of materials and methods to reinforce lessons to student.
Welcome open inquiry and peer feedback and review.
Participate in school-wide professional development workshops as requested to support MLC’s inclusion model and to support instructional staff.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services and/or designee.
Qualifications: Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (BA) preferred, or currently enrolled as a junior or senior university student, and/or equivalent schooling and experience working with students in an educational setting.
Experience working with and motivating groups of children while maintaining school standards.
A desire to serve children.
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Employment contingent upon clearance of Live Scan and TB test results.
