Job Opening: Elementary Special Education Teacher – Resource Room (Reading & Math Focus)

We're hiring a passionate and student-centered Special Education Teacher to support elementary learners in a resource room setting for the full 2025–2026 academic year. This is a full-time opportunity for an educator who is committed to providing personalized instruction in reading and math for a small caseload of students with diverse learning needs.

As the lead teacher in this resource room, you’ll provide direct instruction in both reading and math to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). You'll implement evidence-based strategies to support academic growth and collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student progress.

Key responsibilities include delivering targeted instruction in reading and math that aligns with each student’s IEP goals. The teacher will monitor student growth through consistent progress tracking, assessments, and data collection. Maintaining accurate records and completing IEP documentation in accordance with state and federal guidelines is essential. The role also involves working collaboratively with school staff and caregivers to promote inclusive practices and creating a structured, nurturing learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and encouraged to succeed.

Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; a master's degree is preferred. A valid IL teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement is required. Ideal applicants will have experience providing small group instruction and implementing differentiated learning strategies to support diverse learners. Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.
