An exciting position is available for skilled Teachers for the Visually Impaired to work in a K-12 setting located in Rathdrum, ID. Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the diverse needs of a 28-student caseload. Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational staff, to create cohesive support plans. Provide direct instruction and guidance to students, utilizing specialized teaching methods and resources. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communications with families and other stakeholders. Advocate for the needs and rights of visually impaired students within the educational system. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in assistive technologies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field. Certification or endorsement in Teaching Visually Impaired Students or Orientation and Mobility. Experience working with students with visual impairments preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and staff. Proficient in using assistive technology and tools designed for visually impaired learners.
