Student Services & Programming Elementary foundational skills and mobility training Secondary academic accommodation and transition planning Assistive technology integration and training Braille literacy instruction and tactile learning support Students with various degrees of visual impairment including blindness and low vision Professional Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education programs Provide specialized instruction in areas of unique need Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers Deliver orientation and mobility consultation services Maintain ongoing communication with families and educational teams Ensure compliance with federal and state special education requirements Credential Requirements Master's degree in Visual Impairment Education or related field Valid Michigan Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification Minimum 2 years of direct experience serving students with visual impairments Proficiency in Braille transcription and tactile instructional methods Strong technology skills and virtual instruction capabilities Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities Virtual Excellence Our advanced platform provides comprehensive tools for effective remote vision education delivery.
