Ravenna Middle School is committed to providing hands-on, project-based learning that ignites curiosity and builds real-world skills. We’re seeking an innovative STEAM teacher who can guide our 7th–8th graders through robotics concepts, manufacturing challenges, coding projects, AI explorations, and open-ended problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications Michigan Teaching Certificate with one or more of the following endorsement codes:

Physics or Physical Science (DE,DP, IE,IP) Mathematics (EQ,EX) Integrated Science (DI) Educational Technology (NP) Key Responsibilities Robotics Instruction: Teach foundational robotics concepts—mechanical design, sensor integration, and programming logic—and mentor students through hands-on builds. Coding & Computational Thinking: Deliver block- and text-based coding instruction (Scratch, Python) to develop algorithmic problem-solving skills. Manufacturing & Design: Introduce students to CAD software, 3D Printing, Laser cutting/engraving and prototyping tools (Maven/CAD), guiding safe operation of fabrication equipment and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset. AI & Emerging Technologies: Explore machine-learning fundamentals, sensor integration, and ethics in AI, guiding students through hands-on labs.

Curriculum Development: Design and implement a robust, semester-long STEAM curriculum that weaves together robotics, manufacturing processes (, 3D printing, CNC basics), programming, Maven/CAD design, and introductory AI concepts.

Assessment & Reflection: Develop performance-based assessments, portfolio reviews, and student reflections to track growth in both technical skills and design thinking.

Collaboration & Outreach: Partner with classroom teachers to integrate STEAM into core subjects, coordinate after-school clubs and showcase events (, family STEAM nights), and liaise with local industry partners for field trips or guest speakers. Experience Proven track record developing middle school STEAM or technology-focused curricula

Hands-on experience with robotics platforms (LEGO, VEX, etc.) and CAD/CAM tools
