Job Title: At-Home Music Mentor (All Instruments)

Job Summary:

ROOTS Academy is hiring At-Home Music Mentors to teach private music lessons in the homes of students throughout the Greater Nashville area. We are seeking passionate, dependable instructors across all instruments - including piano, voice, guitar, drums, strings, brass, woodwinds, and more.

As a ROOTS Mentor, you'll do more than teach - you'll mentor students in both music and personal growth. This role is ideal for teachers who are deeply committed to long-term student relationships and are excited to bring high-quality instruction directly into the homes of local families.

Key Responsibilities: Provide weekly one-on-one private lessons in students' homes for your primary instrument(s). Teach students foundational through advanced musical skills, including technique, music theory, and performance preparation. Foster a safe, encouraging learning environment for students aged 7-17. Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and development. Participate in bi-monthly team meetings, quarterly recitals, and occasional professional development (held at our Brentwood campus). Work Schedule:

Mentors are typically scheduled for 2-3 days per week during the following hours: Monday-Thursday: 2:00-8:30 PM Friday: 2:00-7:00 PM Saturday: 10:00 AM-2:00 PM A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and comfort teaching in varied home settings are required.

Qualifications: At least one year of teaching experience on your primary instrument(s). Commitment to teaching with ROOTS for a minimum of one year. Successful completion of a criminal background check. Consistent availability during peak after-school hours; active touring musicians or those with recurring conflicts during these times will not be considered. Compensation: Lesson Rate: $25-$28/hour starting rate Drive Time: Compensated at $16.50/hour for all travel between student homes Final lesson rate is based on experience, instrument, and schedule availability
