PURPOSE STATEMENT

Under supervision of the Primary Lead Teacher, plans and implements activities for children in accordance with the curricula and goals that are designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed to meet the goals and philosophy of Hilldale School.


QUALIFICATIONS

Teacher must be warm, reliable, organized, detail-oriented, creative, and personable. She/he must have a friendly, caring, and enthusiastic nature with a can-do, results-oriented attitude, be committed to the idea of an accelerated education, have excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills, and be flexible and willing to do whatever tasks may be required. Teacher must have Google Suite skills and the ability to learn school software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and responsibilities are not listed by importance or priority. Other duties may be assigned as desired by the management. As a teacher of an outstanding private school, your duties include:


CURRICULUM

  • Fully and thoroughly completes the assigned curriculum.
  • Teaches multiple subjects in self-contained class
  • Ensures that all standards are met at the designated level.
  • Uses standards-based assessments to determine student mastery.
  • Teach positive ethical values that foster responsibility, positivity, self-discipline, leadership, perseverance, and life-long learning.
  • Fosters geographical awareness, world citizenship, and social responsibility.
  • Encourages an understanding of our environment and the need for personal stewardship of environmental resources; promotes environmentally friendly actions on the school campus.
  • Actively shares in the development of a world- class educational experience, including such things as researching and sharing best practices from around the world; seeks relevant articles and activities to enhance your subject and to inspire your students.
  • Differentiates the material to meet the needs and challenge all students.


CAMPUS & CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT

  • Maintains a positive, consistent, and safe environment in the classroom as well as on campus at large.
  • Encourages the development of self-regulation skills.
  • Establishes positive and consistent communication with parents, including providing regular newsletters and individualized feedback.


GENERAL

  • Teaches or coaches one after-school activity or coordinates one school event as approved by the Head of School.
  • Supervises pick-up and drop-off or supervises lunch and recess as directed by the Head of School.
  • Attends scheduled staff meetings.
  • Attends all required school functions, including functions outside of normal school hours.


PERSONAL

  • Sets an example in conduct, manner, interpersonal problem-solving, and general decorum.
  • Maintains positivity and professionalism in interpersonal relationships.
  • Is punctual, arriving at least 20 minutes before school begins.
  • Dresses appropriately and professionally.
  • Collaborates with co-teachers and administrators on best practices.
