Clubhouse Kids is seeking a Full-Time Preschool Teacher!
Clubhouse Kids is a 5-star center-based non-profit childcare and preschool that serves children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. Our program runs year round!
Our center is an Early Head Start partner program and an Act 166 Partner Preschool site. We participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program and provide all meals to our students.
This position is 40 hours per week and is from 7:30am-4:30pm or 8:00am-5:00pm with an hour break. Please see the benefits list below!

Duties
Adhere to all Vermont Public Health and CDD Child Care Licensing Regulations
Being responsible for the care, supervision and management of a class of no more than 10 children between the ages of 3 years through 5 years old
Developing the weekly curriculum that aligns with the Vermont Early Learning Standards and the Clubhouse Kid’s Mission with emphasis on the following:
Play-based and child-led learning and discovery
Inclusion of all children’s needs and learning styles
Social-emotional learning and co-regulation
Nature-based and outdoor learning as much as possible throughout the day
Emergent and/or interest based projects and activities as much as possible
Process art versus product art
Sensory-rich opportunities
Music and Movement
Diversity and celebrating families unique cultural traditions
Implementing the weekly curriculum and emergent curriculum within the routines of the daily schedule with validity
Preparing all materials for classroom curriculum and projects
Maintaining the classroom environment as per CDD Child Care Licensing Regulations
Rotating materials and furniture consistently
Utilizing universal design with developmentally appropriate and safe materials and furniture
Structuring the classroom environment to have clearly designated and purposeful learning and play centers
Ensuring appropriate visuals are accessible to children in the classroom including but not limited to: visual schedules, regulation/ social emotional visuals, pictures of current children, diverse pictures and labels for materials and storage, children’s artwork, etc.
Supervising children at all times during the day and maintaining strict child counts and child to teacher ratios in accordance with the CDD Child Care Licensing Regulations
Using positive behavior approaches and strategies to support all children such as:
Supporting children in accessing the classroom environment
Helping with all self-care and hygiene routines
Using transition supports throughout the routines of the day, ie: verbal or visual transition warnings, timers, transition songs, etc.
Using modeling and role playing to teach new skills and routines
Getting down on the child’s level when communicating with them
Using music, songs, chant, and fingerplays
Using “can-do” or “yes” statements instead of “no” statements
Offering positive redirection
Giving appropriate choices and opportunities for control
Encouraging healthy risk taking indoors and outdoors
Using specific targeted praise to encourage positive behavior
Maintaining neutrality and a calm demeanor when supporting children’s behaviors and emotions
Maintaining a clean and organized classroom by following all Clubhouse Kids and CDD Child Care Licensing Regulations
Washing/ Sanitizing classroom toys and materials, surfaces, nap mats and furniture on a daily basis
Cleaning and disinfecting eating surfaces and chairs, before and after all meals
Cleaning the bathroom daily
Completing laundry for children’s nap belongings, fabrics, and stuffed animals
Garbage, recycling, compost taken out daily
Compost bin/bucket washed daily
Following proper diapering and children’s toileting procedures
Sweeping the floors after meals and messy activities and mopping as needed for large spills
General classroom cleaning such as washing windows and doors, doorknobs, sinks and faucets, and cleaning and organizing storage spaces and counters/shelves
*Clubhouse Kids has an employed center cleaning staff member that vacuums and mops rooms each morning
Following and adhering to all Clubhouse Kids and CDD Child Care Licensing illness and emergency procedures
Complete all required classroom paperwork and documentation including:
Children’s Attendance via brightwheel
Daily Health Checks and Body Charts via paper form
CACFP Food Program Meal Counts via paper form
Incident Reports via paper form
Cleaning Checklists
Developmental Assessment Forms
Behavior Documentation when needed

Communication
Using appropriate communication and language while on-site at Clubhouse Kids
Swearing, profanities, and prejudice/discriminatory language is strictly prohibited at Clubhouse Kids
Greeting all families daily in a friendly/kind manner
Communicating with families via multiple avenues including through brightwheel, email, phone, and in-person
Communicating with co-workers and program directors via multiple avenues including through brightwheel, over radios, email, phone, text, and google chat.
Communicating any child-specific concerns or observations with program directors first, in order to develop a timely and professional plan to address it with parents/ guardians
Approaching difficult and hard conversations with families in the best interest of the child’s development and learning
Keeping professional boundaries and respecting communication and feedback preferences
Professionalism
Being able to leave home and personal issues at the door and put the children’s needs and safety first
Adhering to the Clubhouse Kids professional dress code
Maintaining respectful communication with all Clubhouse Kids staff
Obtaining required annual professional development hours in accordance with the Vermont Child Care Licensing Regulations and Early Head Start requirements.
Keeping your staff file and Bright Futures Information System information up-to-date
Actively participating in supervision meetings, Early Head Start meetings, child-specific team meetings, and planning time with your co-teacher(s)
Attending and participating in monthly team meetings and staff professional development days that are scheduled into the annual calendar
Collaboration
Working in a co-teaching team
Sharing information with any outside service providers and/or specialists
Work with outside service providers to support children’s needs and accommodations and meet with children’s individual teams as needed
Completing any child-specific assessment and/or evaluation materials as requested by service providers
Working with program directors to make referrals for children as necessary
Requirements
At Least an Associate’s Degree in the Early Childhood Education Field, OR
Childcare Development Specialist Certificate (Vermont Childcare Apprenticeship Program), OR,
An active Preschool Child Development Associate credential (CDA), OR
Successfully completed at least 12 College Credits in the Early Childhood Education Field
And
Must pass a criminal background check fingerprinting through the VT Child Care Development Division
Infant/Child First Aid CPR Certified (or willing to take within 3 months of hiring)
Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs at any given time
Must be able to play and move around with children in all settings throughout the entire day
Must be comfortable and prepared/dressed to go outside with children in all Vermont seasons weather
Basic computer knowledge- use of laptop/ iPad
Nice To Haves
Knowledge of Pyramid Model Practices/ Early Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (EMTSS)
A degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
