Position: Preschool Teacher

Schedule: 2025-2026 School Year; 8 hrs M - F

Salary: Per the 2023-2025 Teacher Bargaining Agreement

Qualifications: Must have a 4 year degree in a child development field

Line of Supervision : Reports directly to the Assistant Director of Early Learning Programs.

Responsibilities Include : Plan a developmentally appropriate program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of children through a variety of teaching techniques. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and developmentally appropriate to the age and interest of children through attractive displays, interest centers and selection of appropriate materials. Implement district curriculum and benchmark expectations and standards. Provide individual classroom assessments. Prepare for assigned classes, showing written evidence of preparation at request of immediate supervisor. Plan and coordinate with other teaching staff and classroom paraprofessional. Plan for and provide conferences for parents. Communicate regularly with parents.

Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following: Participate in program meetings and in-service professional development as assigned Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Physical Requirements: Physically capable of meeting all performance responsibilities required with caring for children, including frequent standing, and walking, stooping, bending, kneeling and lifting. Must be able to lift a 40 lbs child and work with children on the floor in play areas.
