Pay Rate: $19.00-$25.00/hour (based on education and experience)
The City of Lake Forest is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team at Kinderhaven Preschool Academy. This is a rewarding opportunity for qualified adults who are passionate about early childhood education and making a positive impact in the community.
Preschool Teachers are responsible for supervising young children in a safe and nurturing environment, delivering a developmentally appropriate curriculum, and maintaining a positive and organized classroom. Ideal candidates will demonstrate leadership, initiative, and a collaborative team spirit.
Examples of Duties
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum for the school year
- Lead daily classroom instruction and activities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming classroom environment
- Assist with classroom setup and takedown
- Promote and enforce safety protocols and school policies
- Serve as a positive role model for children and peers
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers
- Provide exceptional customer service to families
Qualifications
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development OR 60 college credit hours with at least 6 semester hours in ECE/CD (some programs require 15 hours).
- Meets DCFS "teacher" qualifications as outlined in Section 407 of Licensing Standards for Day Care Centers.
- Cleared background checks and all required health and safety documentation.
