Duties

As a Preschool Teacher Aide, you'll partner with the Classroom Teacher to:
  • Develop and implement activities that promote children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
  • Support programming for children ages 3-5 in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards
  • Ensure compliance with Wisconsin Child Care Licensing, City of Madison Accreditation, and Wisconsin YoungStar standards
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community members
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Support multicultural and diverse learning experiences
  • Assist with daily classroom routines and specialized programming
  • Work collaboratively under the direction of the Classroom Teacher


Requirements

Preschool Teacher Aide II Requirements
  • Preschool Credential OR Child Development Associate Credential OR
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in any field plus completion of Intro to Child Care Profession (or equivalent ECE course)
Teacher Aide III Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education OR
  • Related Associate's or Bachelor's degree with practicum and assessments providing unique enrichment (music, art, intervention therapy) with minimum 18 ECE credits

Our staff work tirelessly every day to reach the most vulnerable children and families in our community, and the need for our services is growing.The number of infants and toddlers experiencing homelessness enrolled in our programs has tripled over the last four years.Last year, Reach Dane served more homeless children than any other Head Start program in Wisconsin.
