JOB SUMMARY:

The Preschool Teacher will plan, implement, and assess developmentally appropriate instructional activities for preschool students in alignment with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and ADS curriculum standards. The ideal candidate will bring patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young learners with diverse needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

• Develop and deliver lesson plans that meet IEP goals and NJ DOE preschool standards.
• Create a nurturing, structured classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
• Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and parents to support each child’s development.
• Implement instructional strategies that accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
• Manage classroom routines, transitions, and behavior in a positive and proactive manner.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communicate regularly with families and school staff.
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events.
• Comply with all ADS policies, state regulations, and safety protocols.

QUALIFICATION FOR THE POSITION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• NJ DOE Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH), Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD), Preschool–Grade 3 (P–3) certification, or K–6 certification required.
• Prior experience working with preschool-aged children, preferably in a special education setting.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to collaborative teamwork and continuous learning.
• Successful completion of the New Jersey Department of Education (DOE) Criminal History Background Check required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

• 48-week contract, full-time position aligned with the ADS school calendar.
• Salary range: $58,000 – $68,000 annually, based on experience and level of education.
