Summary

We are seeking a Preschool Lead Teacher who combines professional teaching skills with warmth, creativity, and enthusiasm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing a structured, engaging curriculum while maintaining a safe, loving environment. The successful applicant will use playful, age-appropriate teaching strategies to ensure developmental progress, particularly in early literacy and math.

Duties

  • Develop and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS).
  • Lead daily instruction in math, literacy, science, and social-emotional development using hands-on and exploratory learning.
  • Maintain a structured daily schedule with a balance of teacher-led and child-initiated activities.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom climate.
  • Observe and assess children’s development and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and support staff regarding child progress and classroom activities.
  • Maintain compliance with all DECAL/BFTS licensing regulations and safety protocols.


Requirements

  • Pass Criminal Records Check
  • Interview Requirement-As part of the interview process, shortlisted candidates will be invited to conduct a 15–20-minute demonstration lesson in either math or literacy for a preschool classroom. This will assess the candidate’s ability to actively engage children, demonstrate instructional strategies, and manage the classroom environment effectively.
  • Education: Minimum of an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required). Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Lead Teacher in a licensed childcare or preschool setting (required).
  • Knowledge of DECAL/BFTS standards for Georgia early learning programs.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills.
