Preschool Teacher Assistant

We are looking for a Preschool Assistant to join our wonderful staff at the Jewish Preschool of Lexington. A preschool assistant provides support to the teaching staff and performs many leadership, organizational and classroom management tasks to support both Teachers and students. Requirements Love, patience and understanding of children. Calm and organized Team player Responsibilities Supervising students in the classroom, the bathroom, the gym, and outside and during transitions Engage with the students at their developmental level, promote independence and higher level thinking through open-ended questions and conversations and have fun! Collaborating with the Teacher to identify students’ issues and recommend solutions Be aware of children’s needs and bring unusual occurrences to teacher attention. Consistently utilize classroom/ behavior management strategies throughout the day Tracking attendance and child notes Observing state, school and class rules and regulations Helping Teachers with lesson preparation, including collecting materials and setting up equipment Participate in Team meetings.
