Summary
Experienced, Credentialed PreK Teachers will be contacted for an on-site interview. This position is not remote.
Working 32 hours per week, with a maximum of 35 hours per calendar school year. Hours could extend to afterschool for 2025-2026 season.
The role and description have varying pay scales, based on posted qualifications. Only candidates selected will be contacted directly.
The position below will involve working with the student population aged as identified under PreK Associate. Candidates must have experience (verifiable work) with learners who possess full-scale 'average intelligence' who may learn differently.
Position requires a clean personal background, Driving History, and criminal background check, and maintain a professional demeanor while working with staff, students, and parents (at all times).
Salary will align with educational background, certifications, and experience.
PreK Associate - Working with children ages 5-6, but will engage with other students up to age K-18.
The candidate must have a professional demeanor and be able to get along with both staff, children, and families.
Education or experience of at least 3 years (verifiable employment) in the area of Education, Special Education a closely related degree, providing direct academic support in the classroom working with 'high functioning' students.
A certificate in Early Childhood Education (CDA, Diploma, or TCC required) with a minimum of 2 years of direct child care experience. If currently enrolled in an ECE program, we will consider a Paraprofessional Certificate, an Associate's degree, or being a current college student at an accredited university system with active coursework in Early Childhood Education leading to a Certificate or Degree within 6 months of hire.
*Students in our program are not physically aggressive or have disruptive behaviors. There is never physical contact with students.
The candidate should have adequate knowledge of conversational engagement as it pertains to 'expressive/receptive' actions when dealing with children. In other words, candidates should understand appropriate topics or conversations to engage students, refraining from topics or conversations ethically, morally, or situationally inappropriate.
All Instruction will be In-Person (this position is not Virtual)

Duties
- Associates will prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration
- Associates will instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods, such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations.
- Associates will confer with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems.
- Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to students.
- Read books to entire classes or small groups.
- Prepare students for later grades by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks.
- Guide and counsel students with adjustment or academic problems, or special academic interests.
- Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help.
- Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of states and schools.
- Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
- Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula.
- Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs and progress.
- Use computers, audio-visual aids, and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations.
- Prepare for assigned classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisors.
- Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of elementary school programs.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage.
- Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling.
- Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guest speakers or other experiential activities, and guide students in learning from those activities.
- Organize and label materials and display students' work.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees, as required.
- Administer standardized ability and achievement tests and interpret results to determine student strengths and areas of need.
- Supervise, evaluate, and plan assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers.
- Involve parent volunteers and older students in children's activities to facilitate involvement in focused, complex play.
- Perform administrative duties, such as assisting in school libraries, hall and cafeteria monitoring, and bus loading and unloading.
- Select, store, order, issue, and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Provide students with assistive devices, supportive technology, and assistance accessing facilities, such as restrooms.
- Sponsor extracurricular activities, such as clubs, student organizations, and academic contests.
Requirements
- All candidates must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Word
- All candidates must have proficient knowledge of Google Classroom, Google Sheets, Google Meet and Zoom
- All candidates must be comfortable presenting, instructing, and working closely with children, staff, and parents
- All candidates must adhere to face coverings when delivering instruction and working with children, staff, and parents
- All candidates must display optimal professionalism, communicating information in a respectful and tactful manner
- Candidates must have verifiable recent work experience for consideration of any open position posted, working with children in an academic setting

- Ability to wear a mask and use cautionary techniques throughout each working day, M-F (no exceptions)
