Duties : Maintains a student-centered approach to teaching and learning Creates a positive environment for learning Develops relevant and engaging learning activities aligned to standards Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences Integrates technology into planning, learning, and record-keeping activities Explain, demonstrate, and modify lessons and physical activities appropriate to the individual needs of the students Provides responsive, rigorous and differentiated instruction to ensure all students are successful Evaluate and grade students' class work, performances, projects, assignments, and papers. Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records Prepare students for performances, exams, or assessments Possesses strong classroom management skills Exhibits flexibility, initiative and creativity Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal and communication skills Partners with parents to ensure the success of students Maintains high expectations for self and students

Qualifications: Current and Valid Illinois Professional Educator License Minimum BA with endorsements in Physical Education and Health (K-9 or K-12) Relates positively to youth and adults of varying socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic backgrounds, different learning styles, and various disabilities Coaching experience preferred, but not required Excellent communication skills Evidence of planning, organization and time management skills that will bring structure and accountability to the position Ability to collaborate with teachers regarding student learning.
