Job Summary:
Provide our students with a rich, dynamic educational environment where teaching serves learning through creating and executing lesson plans. Promote and enforce ongoing learning to achieve academic excellence through inquiry and increased student autonomy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Have the highest expectations and create lessons that call upon students’ innate capacity to master complex learning tasks and that leverage their interests and strengths.
• Cultivate deep content-area knowledge because they are passionate learners, themselves.
• Engage in professional development training, collaborative team planning, and welcome opportunities to reflect on one’s teaching practice.
• Openly participate in dialogue around identity, race, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Collect, analyze, and develop action plans based on a variety of data, both quantitative and qualitative.
• Develop meaningful relationships with colleagues, students, families, and the greater school community.
• Foster a sense of belonging for students through responsive classroom management strategies, a growth mindset approach to learning, and partnerships with families.
• Engage in school community events, including family conferences and other activities.
• Provide academic support, instructional practices and management needs as mandated on the IEP.
• Compile and organize documentation for IEP meetings and progress reports.
• Track progress towards annual IEP goals, attend IEP meetings and ensuring appropriate accommodations are given to students during assessments.
• Classroom management- foster a positive learning environment by effectively maintaining appropriate student behavior.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Master’s degree (preferred)
• NYS Certification in Early Childhood Education and/or Childhood Education, highly preferred
• Additional certification in Students with Disabilities, Literacy, and/or Mathematics, highly preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Prior teaching experience (preferred)
