I.               Summary of the position: •       The Physical Education (PE) Teacher will work closely with the Head of Education and/or School Principals to provide an excellent classical and Christian education founded upon a biblical worldview.  The PE Teacher will equip students to develop physical fitness, sportsmanship, and discipline while integrating biblical principles into physical education. II.             Experience and Knowledge Required: •       BA/BS in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field or relevant related experience required •       Experience with teaching children in grades K-12 required •       Ability to integrate biblical teachings and principles into the classroom and specifically physical education •       Proficiency in classical pedagogy as applied to physical education III.            Essential Functions and Responsibilities: •       Integrates biblical truth into physical education lessons and activities •       Designs and implements a comprehensive physical education curriculum that promotes physical fitness, motor skills, teamwork and a love for movement •       Utilizes classical pedagogy by incorporating structured discipline, repetition, and age-appropriate physical challenges •       Collaborates with faculty during weekly meetings and seeks assistance and direction from the Head of Education and/or principals as needed •       Establishes and maintains a well-organized and safe physical education environment that adheres to school guidelines •       Collaborates with other faculty members to align expectations, grading, discipline, and special events related to physical education •       Initiates regular communication with parents to discuss student progress, behavior, and areas for growth in physical education •       Educates parents on the importance of physical activity in classical Christian education •       Maintains open lines of communication between parents and colleagues, addressing concerns directly and scripturally •       Builds positive relationships with students, modeling sportsmanship, teamwork, and Christian character •       Encourages students to develop self-discipline, responsibility, and respect for others through structured physical activities •       Develops and enforces safety procedures to ensure all students participate in PE activities safely •       Collaborates with the Head of Education and/or Principals regarding student struggles, behavior, and discipline related to PE classes •       Works with faculty to organize school-wide physical events such as field days, sports tournaments, and fitness challenges •       Effectively utilize the school information system (SIS) to document student progress and behavior •       Maintains up-to-date lesson plans accessible to administration as required •       Assesses student progress using various evaluation methods, including skill assessments, participation tracking, and performance observations •       Partners with parents in their role of training children in physical discipline and wellness from a biblical perspective •       Assists in school-wide events, including lunch, recess, carline, and homeroom supervision as needed •       Participates in faculty prayer and devotion times •       Attends required faculty meetings and professional development sessions •       Participates in school events including back-to-school and parent-teacher conferences •       Other related duties as assigned by the Head of Education or other member of leadership IV.           Physical Requirements •       Must be able to demonstrate and participate in physical activities, including running, jumping, stretching and lifting equipment •       May be required to lift up to 30 lbs on occasion V.             Work Hours and Benefits •       Full-time hours M-F (40 hours weekly expected) •       Pay based on experience VI.           Attributes & Qualifications: •       Diligently seeks a vital and growing personal relationship with the Lord •       Is able to work on a team toward specific goals in a mutually edifying and supportive manner •       Maintains a teachable and open attitude •       Ability to communicate effectively with leadership, peers and with varying age groups of children and adolescents •       Demonstrate a strong work ethic, stamina and passion •       Strong relationship and team building skills with demonstrated ability to build rapport •       Demonstrates eagerness for learning and professional growth VII.         Employee possesses and exhibits the following core values in their daily life: •       Bold in Faith, Resolute in Identity, Authentic in Relationships, Virtuous in Character, Engaged in Mission •       Love for God & People •       Work Ethic that is excellent, protective and frugal with time and money •       Attitude of a servant, enjoyable to be with and devoted to the call of God and the Church
