JOB SUMMARY Kennedy Catholic is seeking a dynamic and self-directed educator to teach a full-time combination of health and physical education classes within our physical education department. Key responsibilities include instruction and curriculum development, assessment, classroom management and parent communication; collaboration with colleagues to ensure quality and consistency of overall program; willing participation in the co-curricular and ministerial life of the school; mentorship for student engagement; and fulfillment of all additional supervision duties expected of full-time teachers.

QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in the specific content area (ex. PE, Kinesiology, Health Sciences, Exercise Science) • WA State Teaching Certificate or the ability to obtain one • Master’s degree preferred • Familiarity with educational technology • Recent classroom experience, preferably in a high school setting Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The ideal candidate will possess the skills and abilities to: • Teach a range of physical education and health courses across Grades 9-12 • Demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness • Create and implement authentic assessments (formative and summative) appropriate to the health and physical education courses assigned • Use technology as a tool in the classroom • Work with a wide variety of high school students in a multicultural setting2 • Develop positive interpersonal relationships • Exhibit good organization and management skills • Meet individual student needs in the development of department goals and restructuring of the curriculum • Collaborate with colleagues including team teaching and professional learning communities with colleagues including team teaching and professional learning communities

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications. Salary is dependent upon experience, certification, and education according to Kennedy Catholic’s faculty compensation schedule.
