Monday through Friday (No weekends or federal holidays)
Shifts between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM
Up to 8 hours/day , maximum 40 hours/week
License / Certifications *
Current State of California Certification as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
Resume showing minimum 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience
Minimum Qualifications / *
Minimum 2 years of recent professional experience as a Phlebotomist
Must be fully trained and competent in venipuncture and specimen processing
The Certified Phlebotomist will be responsible for the ** *
Accurately verify patient identity using two identifiers per VA policy
Perform blood draws and collect samples following VA protocols
Ensure specimens are correctly labeled and processed
Input and verify clinician orders in the VA electronic system
Conduct waived and/or non-waived tests as required
Prepare specimens for shipping if off-site analysis is needed
Interact with patients, staff, and coworkers with professionalism and compassion
Follow infection control and safety policies
Support a cooperative and team-based work environment
Report directly to the VA Laboratory Supervisor or designee.
