*Position Title:* Part-time Afternoon Assistant Teacher *Location:* Boise ID *Employment Type:* Part-time

*Position Overview:* We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and creative Afternoon Assistant Teacher to engage and inspire children in a fun and educational environment in both our preschool classrooms and in our afterschool program. As an Afternoon teacher you will provide supervision, structure, and help with activities that promote the social, emotional, and intellectual development of children. This role requires a dynamic individual who is passionate about working with children and creating memorable experiences, as well and assisting in cleaning and closing duties. For our afterschool program we are seeking a teacher who has an Idaho license and is able to transport children to and from school.

*Key Responsibilities:*

* Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children * Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate recreational, educational, and creative activities (arts & crafts, games, outdoor play, STEM, etc.). * Foster a positive and inclusive environment, encouraging children to develop their social skills and self-confidence. * Communicate with parents and caregivers about children's progress, behavior, and any concerns. * Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports. * Assist with the setup and cleanup of activities, classrooms, and outdoor spaces. * Provide support in managing behavioral challenges and maintaining a respectful and cooperative atmosphere. * Be a positive role model for children, demonstrating responsibility, kindness, and respect. * Work closely with other staff to ensure smooth coordination of all program activities and schedules.

*Qualifications:*

* High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred). * Previous experience working with children in a group setting (e.g., daycare, camp, after-school programs). * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to plan and organize activities for diverse groups of children. * Patient, creative, and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. * CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before employment). * Background check required.

*Physical Requirements:*

* Ability to participate in outdoor activities, including running, walking, and physical games. * Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds (e.g., setting up equipment, assisting children as needed).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 17 - 20 per week

Schedule: * Day shift * Monday to Friday

Experience: * Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification: * Boise Childcare License (Willing to help achieve)? (Preferred) * CPR/First Aid w/ Pediatric endorsement? (Preferred)
