Spanish Teacher

New England Jewish Academy, an ECC-12th-grade school located in West Hartford, CT, is seeking a part-time, level 3 Spanish teacher for 2 periods a week in the middle of the day.  We are a close-knit group of educators who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of our students. We are looking for someone who is patient, caring, and has a love for teaching. The ideal candidate will have at least 3  years of teaching experience and will :

Be an expert in or have a degree in the subject matter

Plan, prepare, and deliver active learning experiences

Provide an environment that encourages participation, recognizes the needs of individual students and the entire group, and offers support and flexibility as needed

Continually assess student progress toward mastery of standards and keep students and parents well informed of student progress by collecting and tracking data

Create a respectful learning environment, including setting and maintaining appropriate standards of student behavior

Cultivate positive relationships with each student

Develop a trusting partnership with parents.

Welcome constructive feedback and engage in ongoing professional development opportunities

Support the mission and values of the school
