Job Description

Pitney Bowes is hiring a Non CDL Van Driver II, 1st Shift at our Ashland, Virginia facility. Join our team and earn $20.00 per hour paid weekly with possible overtime! Your work schedule will be Monday Friday from 8:30AM 5:30PM EST.

You will:

  • Picks up and delivers mail from our customers by operating a company van weighing up to 10,000 GVWR.
  • Inspect vehicles assigned by Pitney Bowes pre-trip inspection guidelines and procedures.
  • Reports any defective findings to the Transportation Supervisor.
  • Maintains a daily driver's log or route sheet for mileage and cargo.
  • Inspects products to verify conformance to customer and USPS specifications and regulations.
  • Ensure that the mail is reviewed for proper dates, presort slugs and a pickup slip is attached with each order prior to loading on the truck.
  • Promotes a clean work area to prevent possible injuries and/or tripping hazards to self and others.
  • Assists in dispatch area between assigned pickups.
  • Assist with the presorting of mail on the production floor.
  • All other duties as assigned.

As a Non CDL Van Driver II, you have:

  • Minimum age of 18 years old
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator's license
  • Ability to drive a Van up to 10,000 GVWR.
  • Minimum of 6 months' experience driving a similar sized vehicle with a safe driving record
  • Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
  • Ability to read a map and understand directions with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to understand and become knowledgeable with USPS regulations and managing standards with or without accommodations.
  • Ability to lift, push and/or carry up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodations.
  • Regularly sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time with or without accommodation.
  • Must have the ability to work mandatory overtime that may include weekends, holidays and or a different shift with little or no advance notice.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good customer services skills necessary
  • Ability to meet and comply with all applicable US Department of Transportation requirements for pre-employment and post hire.
  • Satisfactory completion of our pre-employment process which may include DOT driving tests, drug screens and background verifications.

Pitney Bowes Presort Services performs mail sorting; performing some of the work that would typically be performed by the USPS. For completing this work, Presort Services receives discounted postage rates. By performing this sorting work on behalf of our clients, we are able to share a portion of that discount with them. Our national network of operating centers processes over 17 billion pieces of mail annually. We provide mailers with end-to-end solutions from pick-up at their location into delivery into the postal system network, providing optimal postage savings.
