Job Summary

Innovations Academy is a K-8 public charter school that emphasizes hands on interactive learning. We have not had a music teacher for many years but we are exploring our options. We would like someone who is comfortable working with a broad range of students from K-8 grade. Currently, this person would be working with K-5. The position would be part of our Explorations program. The music teacher would work with half a class (13 students) at a time. In lower grades we imagine students creatively expressing themselves through music concepts like sound and silence, rhythm and beat, dynamics, tempo, and instrumentation. For older kids we are possibly guitar, recorder or piano (we have these instruments). The right person would have experience with a variety of ages in groups and be able to help us design a quality program. The person MUST HOLD A CALIFORNIA MUSIC CREDENTIAL.
