Qualifications:
Professional Educator License (PEL) with Music Endorsement
Examples of Duties: Develop lesson plans to include a balanced music program and organize daily class time so that preparation, rehearsal, and instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time. Teach courses in music utilizing curriculum and other appropriate learning activities. Teach music appreciation, music history and music theory. Promotes and directs the band. Adapts curriculum to provide individual, small group, or remedial instruction to meet the needs of individual students. Evaluates each student's musical growth and performance. Plans, rehearses and directs students in musical programs for the school. Manage materials and equipment effectively. Request books, musical instruments, and instructional aides; maintains required inventory records. Maintains the storage and use of school-owned property; makes adjustments and requests repairs to instruments as required. Will accompany groups during the presentation of music/fine arts/band programs. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Ability to: Provide specialized resource support and coordination of a creative and innovative music instruction and band program. Analyze and assess music program needs, and offer recommendations pertaining to program activity revisions, additions, or deletions. Establish and maintain effective organization, community, and public relationships.
Salary and Evaluation: Per Collective Bargaining Agreement
